Important safety information
Panko helps caregivers stay informed and manage a pump remotely. Insulin therapy carries risk. Please read this before you rely on Panko.
In an emergency, call your local emergency number first.
- 1
Panko does not give medical advice
Panko is a monitoring and remote-management tool. It does not diagnose, treat or advise. Follow the guidance of your diabetes care team.
- 2
It is not an emergency service
Panko cannot call for help. If someone may be in danger, for example severe low glucose, confusion or loss of consciousness, call your local emergency number.
- 3
Alerts can be late or fail
Alerts depend on the sensor, the pump, the network, the server and your phone's settings, battery and permissions. Any of them can fail or be delayed. Do not rely on Panko as your only way of noticing a problem.
- 4
Check the real device
If a reading looks wrong or does not match how the person feels, check with the sensor's or meter's own method and the pump itself, as their instructions say.
- 5
Commands are not instant
A command sent from the app travels through the network to the pump. Wait for the pump's confirmation. If a command is reported as not confirmed, check the pump directly before sending it again, so a dose is never given twice.
- 6
Keep control of access
Only give access to people you trust, choose the lowest role that fits, and remove people who no longer need access. Keep your account password private.
- 7
Keep everything up to date
Keep the app updated and allow notifications. Check the app's alert-monitoring status regularly, and keep your phone charged and connected.
